There are tons of features, and the layout isn't afraid to show its complexity. This isn't designed for someone new to reading music. Opening the program makes one thing obvious: This means the built-in instrumentation is much better than the previous release, and it sounds better if you play along. Plus, it has a new set of instrument banks and a better connection to your guitar. The interface has been completely redesigned in high-resolution, so it looks great on larger screens that weren't even available when Guitar Pro 6 was released. Writing all those excellent tabs isn't easy, despite what you claim. I see how other people take statements out of context all too easily on this forum all the time. I know you know that already, so I'm not really directing this at you. But I'm just trying to point out that being able to write numbers on lines isn't comparable to knowing how to play a banjo. I'm sure it's tongue-in-cheek to a certain extent, but I wouldn't want people to take this as a truism and start tabbing out unplayable nonsense. I'm not so sure about that statement that hearing tabledit play the tab back validates the tab. Totally agree with you that tabledit (both the free and paid for versions) and indeed tefview, are all brilliant and wonderful tools!īut. And HEARING a tabbed arrangement is 'proof' of whether it's a good tab or not.
